Certificate Awarding Ceremony of NDBUS Members

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the participants of 1st Quarter (July-October’08) of the NDBUS members held on the 17th November 2008 at Chayanot auditorium. DIG delegates along with the project team members were presented at the ceremony. Chairmen of different ward & primary committees along with the Chairman & General Secretary of NDBUS were also presented.

Salma A. Shafi, the Project Adviser; delivered her valuable speech as the inaugural speaker. DIG delegates: Thea Anderson, Technical Director; Michael Jenkins, Senior Advisor and Ashleigh Flesher, Programme Officer were the Special Guests at the Ceremony. The whole programme was conducted by the members of NDBUS.

Certificates were distributed among 98 participants of different committees of NDBUS based on their successful completion of the following trainings:
4 Advocacy Training
4 Office Management Training
4 Disaster Management & Mitigation Training and
4 Computer Training

A cultural function was also held by the children of NDNUS members at the end of the handed over of certificates by the DIG delegates.

After providing training to three groups consisting of 45 members, NDBUS agreed to select trainers from their own resources on mushroom culture. They will train new members as well as start up mushroom cultivation in a big scale. With a view to select trainers as well as resource person/s among NDBUS members, the project team arranged following selection criteria; i. Interested candidates will have to conduct training at field level in presence of the project trainer for preliminarily qualification; ii. Trainers, after being preliminary qualified, will conduct Mushroom Training at URBIS Training Centre in presence of Project Adviser and a mushroom culture expert; iii. Following the above procedure, the two best ranked persons will be qualified for conducting further mushroom cultivation training for the project and NDBUS. iv.
