Management Training Week (9th – 14th August, 2008) for NDBUS Members






















The Second Training Week was designed with the participants of committee members of NDBUS Central Committee and Ward Committees of Korail and Rayerbazar. The training continued for two day long session where participants were provided with the following management issues along with visit to a project site of ARBAN (an NGO) initiated housing/apartment scheme at Shah Ali Bag, Mirpur Section - 2 which is being constructed with savings of 40 members. The scheme started since 1999 with micro credit members of the NGO.

§ Office Administration
Learning Objective: To introduce management techniques applied in office administrations in performing day to day activities of an organization.

§ Data Management
Learning Objective: To enable participants to record data as well as search for data and includes filing of data, labeling etc.

§ Accounting, Tax and Relevant Laws
Learning Objective : Accounting, Tax and Relevant issues enables NDBUS members to maintain daily accounts, bank accounts, ledger, posting of expenditures, monthly budget preparation, income and expenditure statements etc.

§ Project Proposal and Project Management
Preparation of Proposal; Approach to Donors; Project Management.
Learning Objective: Project Proposal will help them learn to prepare proposals for funding of programmes as well as make them ready for project management.

Participants of three committees (Central and Ward Committees of Korail & Rayerbazar) were divided into 9 groups (5 members in a group) and provided with an assignment for preparing a proposal on the second day of the training. They presented their proposal before Project Adviser, Salma A. Shafi and Honorary Chairperson of the CUS, Professor Nazrul Islam on 12th, 13th and 14th July, 2008. The Chairperson appreciated the idea of housing proposals presented by the participants. He welcomed their mind set to be self reliant.

The two day long training sessions were conducted by Hasan Mohammad Titu (who taught Office Administration and Data Management) Advocate Alamgir Kabir (who taught Accounting, Tax and Relevant Laws) and Mehedi Imam (who taught on Project Proposal and Project Management.)

Comments and evaluation by the participants on the training contents were satisfactory while they sought more training hours on management issues.

The organizers are thankful to the participants and appreciate the reception given by the ARBAN and their team members at Shah Ali Bag project site on three consecutive days (9th -11th August, 2008) to the trainees.
