Certificate Awarding Ceremony of NDBUS Trainees

Certificate Awarding Ceremony for participants of 2nd quarter (November ’08 – February ’09) of NDBUS members was held on the 9th January 2009; Friday at the Centre for Urban Studies (CUS). DIG delegates along with the project team members were present at the ceremony. Members of the Executive Committee of NDBUS were also present.

It was a bright and sunny winter morning. The programme was arranged at the roof top of CUS. The programme was to distribute certificates among 6 different groups of Advocacy training & 5 different groups of Basic Computer Applications training consisting of 129 trainees. The ceremony started with recitation of the national anthem. DIG delegates: Marianne Carliez, URBIS Programme Manager; Asleigh Flesher, Programme Officer, DIG; Craig Matasick, Programme Associate, DIG; were present as special guests. Salma. A. Shafi, the Project Advisor; delivered her introductory speech.

Marianne Carliez, the URBIS Programme Manager remarked “NDBUS should feel proud to have become the largest organization of the urban poor among 7 different countries in the world with which DIG is currently operating in its URBIS programme.”

The short programme was carried out with combined effort of NDBUS members.
